For four travelers with four bags, paying for a Deluxe taxi may not solve the space problem. The official International Taxi booking page lists both Midsize and Deluxe as 3 passengers and 3 luggage items, while Large lists 6 and 6. When we selected four passengers and four bags, the page disabled Midsize and Deluxe as over capacity and recommended Large. Check the operator’s vehicle selector.

That is a checked example from one booking service, not a universal passenger limit for every Seoul taxi. The practical rule is to confirm people and luggage together before choosing a vehicle. Official pages and the booking selector were checked on October 23, 2026 (UTC).

What the three booking cards actually say

International Taxi optionPassengers shownLuggage items shownResult with 4 passengers + 4 bags
Midsize33Disabled: over capacity
Deluxe33Disabled: over capacity
Large66Recommended by the selector

Source: the public booking form. We changed only the two quantity selectors; we did not make a reservation or obtain a fare quote. The cards do not specify suitcase dimensions, so six luggage icons do not establish that any six oversized cases will fit.

Seoul’s official taxi guide separately recommends SUV/van taxis for substantial luggage or groups of five or more. It describes Deluxe as a premium service category. A higher service tier and a larger cargo area are different things to check.

Count the load before comparing prices

Make a single inventory for the whole party, including the return trip after shopping:

  • People: adults and children, including anyone who needs a child seat or additional assistance.
  • Rolling cases: quantity and approximate outside dimensions, including wheels and handles.
  • Other pieces: backpacks, shopping bags, folded stroller, mobility aid, sports equipment or a pet carrier.
  • Special requirements: an item that cannot be folded or stacked, or a fragile box that must stay upright.

A useful request is: “Four passengers, two cases measuring approximately [height × width × depth] cm, two cabin cases and four backpacks.” It gives the operator more to assess than “four bags.” Ask whether the quoted vehicle accommodates that load with all required passenger seats available.

Do not solve a space problem by leaving a person or item out of the request. Ask about the specific vehicle and any child-seat arrangement before booking; neither a luggage icon nor the word “van” confirms it.

One larger vehicle, two cars, or public transport?

ChoiceUseful whenConfirm before deciding
One suitable larger vehicleKeeping the party and bags together mattersWritten acceptance of the complete load, pickup location and full quote
Two smaller vehiclesA larger vehicle is unavailable or the two quotes suit your budgetWhich people and bags go in each car, two reachable contacts and the same exact destination
Airport busThe stop and timetable fit your accommodationThat operator’s luggage allowance, walking distance and tickets for the whole party
RailYou can manage the bags through stations and any transferThe complete route to the hotel, not just the airport-to-Seoul train leg

For a Myeongdong stay, our airport bus versus AREX comparison helps work out the public-transport alternative. Check the current ticket totals for your party before comparing them with a vehicle quote.

For two cars, add both full quotes. For one vehicle, confirm whether the quoted amount includes tolls, booking charges, waiting time, time-of-day charges and any extra stop you need. Ask how a delayed flight affects the pickup. There is no live taxi price quoted here: the route, service and actual booking conditions determine the comparison.

Reserve early, then follow the correct pickup instructions

International Taxi’s own service information says reservations require at least 24 hours’ notice and directs travelers needing immediate assistance to its airport information booth. Its booking page uses Korean Standard Time. That lead time belongs to this service; it is not a claim that all airport taxis require advance booking.

If you arrive without a confirmed reservation, use the airport’s official taxi guide and designated stands. It distinguishes ordinary taxis, Deluxe/Jumbo taxis, International/Smart taxis and pre-booked hailing taxis, with different pickup areas. A van-shaped vehicle alone does not tell you which service or fare arrangement you are using.

For a reservation, follow the operator’s terminal, meeting-point and contact instructions. For a walk-up ride, show staff the full passenger-and-bag count before joining a vehicle queue. Do not interpret an airport category labelled “9-seater” as a promise of nine traveler seats plus your luggage.

A message to send before paying

Copy and complete this outline through your chosen operator’s official channel:

We need an airport transfer for [number] passengers on [date and time, KST], from [terminal or hotel] to [exact destination]. Our luggage is [each size and quantity], plus [other items]. Please confirm the vehicle can carry everyone and this complete load. What is the total price, what is included, where do we meet, and what happens if our flight is delayed?

Keep the confirmation accessible to more than one traveler. Use the Korean-address search guide to distinguish the hotel building and entrance. If your next hurdle is registering a foreign card in an app, see the separate Kakao T payment guide; payment support does not establish vehicle capacity.
