A bigger suite can still allow fewer guests. LOTTE CITY HOTEL DAEJEON lists a 57.1 m² Superior Suite Family Twin for up to 3 guests, but a 27.7 m² Standard Double Double for up to 4. Before paying for more space, check whether the exact room permits your whole party. See the hotel’s official room list.

For families, three details need separate answers: how many people may stay (maximum occupancy), which beds they will use, and what the selected rate includes. A child sharing your bed does not, by itself, answer the first question. Official room pages below were checked on October 23, 2026 (America/Chicago); these are published examples, not availability checks or hotel inspections.

What room area and the word “family” leave out

These options are from the same Daejeon property, so the comparison does not rely on different hotels using different names:

The distinction also appears at LOTTE RESORT SOKCHO. Its Deluxe Family Twin has a double plus a single bed and a maximum of 3. Its Deluxe Family Double has two double beds and a maximum of 4. Both pages list 40.5 m², and both say the maximum capacity must not be exceeded.

Treat these as examples of specific room categories. They do not establish one capacity rule for every Korean hotel or every room with “Family Twin” in its name.

Count everyone, then ask how the hotel treats each age

Give the property the number of adults and the age of every child, including infants, for the stay. Use the booking form’s age fields where available. If the form cannot represent your party, get the property’s instructions before paying rather than leaving someone out.

Do not transfer a child-age cutoff from another hotel, a restaurant breakfast policy or a train ticket. “Children stay free” still needs context: which ages, which room, how many children, what bedding, and whether the room’s capacity allows them. A free stay also does not establish that breakfast or an extra bed is included.

Use this small record for each candidate:

RecordWhat you need before comparing totals
Full partyAdult count and each child’s age
Exact property and roomBranch, complete room-category name and dates
Permitted guestsPublished maximum plus any written clarification for your ages
Sleeping arrangementBed count and sizes; confirmed cot or extra bed if needed
Rate inclusionsHow many guests, breakfasts and beds the quoted amount covers

An extra bed request is a separate question from permission for another guest. Confirm both. A room photo showing a sofa is not confirmation that it is a usable sofa bed.

One family room, a suite or two rooms?

Start with options that explicitly accommodate your party, then compare comfort and cost.

OptionUseful whenDetail to resolve
One room with enough stated capacityEveryone is comfortable with the published bedsWhether the quote includes every guest and required bedding
A suiteThe extra living space or layout helps your familyIts actual guest limit; “suite” alone does not increase it
Two roomsOne suitable room is unavailable or the sleeping arrangement works betterTotal price for both, who stays in each, and any required room connection
A different property or accommodation typeThe available categories do not meet your needsIts exact capacity, beds, bathroom arrangement and arrival procedure

If your family needs an internal door between two rooms, ask for that explicitly. Do not interpret “nearby rooms” or an unconfirmed request as a guaranteed connection. Before a nonrefundable booking, establish what happens if the requested arrangement cannot be provided.

For a family of five, a four-person listing is a reason to ask for a different permitted arrangement. The fact that everyone could physically squeeze into the beds is not the hotel’s confirmation.

Compare the cost for the same people and nights

For each option, write down the room charge for the entire stay, including all rooms. Then add only required or chosen extras that are not already included: extra-guest charges, additional bedding, breakfast for the actual party, and applicable taxes or fees. Ask which charges are per person, per night or per stay.

Keep cancellation conditions beside the total. A lower quote for two guests is not a like-for-like comparison with a confirmed arrangement for four. Use our whole-stay hotel cost calculator once you have comparable quotes, and the Seoul hotel-area guide to check whether the location fits your days.

There is no current room-price claim here. The useful saving is avoiding a reservation that needs an unplanned change; whether one room or two costs less depends on your dates and confirmed terms.

A message to send before booking

We are [number] adults and [number] children, aged [each age], staying from [check-in date] to [check-out date]. Can all of us stay in [exact room category]? We need [bed-sharing, cot or extra-bed arrangement]. Please confirm the maximum permitted guests, the beds provided, breakfast coverage and total charges for the whole stay. If we need two rooms, can an internal connecting door be guaranteed before payment?

Save the property’s answer with the selected rate conditions. If the booking site’s guest selector and the hotel’s answer differ, resolve that mismatch before confirming the reservation.

Use the same complete passenger count for transport: our airport taxi luggage guide covers people and bags together, while the KTX toddler-seat guide explains a separate child-fare decision. A hotel’s child policy does not determine either transport arrangement.
