At The Shilla Seoul, two adults and one 8-year-old pay ₩225,000 in Urban Island admission fees if their room package excludes that outdoor pool. That is ₩85,000 + ₩85,000 + ₩55,000 under the published October 1–November 15 schedule. Compare the whole family’s room-and-pool total before choosing the cheaper room rate.
Official information checked October 25, 2026. This guide concerns The Shilla Seoul, with prices in Korean won. The seasonal calculation applies to the current autumn schedule; check the hotel again for later travel dates. The representative image is an imagined scene, not a photograph of this hotel’s facilities.
First, identify which pool your rate includes
The hotel’s Deluxe room facilities table lists the indoor pool as complimentary. Its separately charged sauna is another facility. Check the selected rate’s written inclusions for your own booking.
For Urban Island, the hotel charges extra when the package omits outdoor access. Its child price covers 37 months through age 12. The current autumn hours are 09:30–20:00. Entry is for hotel guests and Fitness Club members, and can be limited by capacity or weather.
A generic swimming-pool icon on a booking listing leaves several decisions unanswered: which pool, which people, which day and which entry window. Look for the facility’s exact name in the rate details before paying.
The indoor option depends on your child’s age and day
The indoor pool’s official rules normally admit guests 13 and older. Children under 13 may enter on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays with an adult guardian. Children under 140 cm also need a life jacket and guardian. Regular hours are 06:00–22:00, with closure on the third Wednesday of each month.
Use those conditions to check the actual swim date:
| Your plan | Booking consequence |
|---|---|
| An 8-year-old wants an indoor swim on an ordinary weekday | The published age rule does not permit that plan. Choose another swim date or suitable facility. |
| The same child wants to swim indoors on Saturday | The guardian exception applies; check the day’s operation and height requirements. |
| Adults want an indoor swim on the third Wednesday | The regular closure affects this plan even when room access is included. |
| You are relying on indoor swimming as a rainy-day fallback | Check eligibility before assigning it as the family’s backup activity. |
For a multi-night stay, mark the swim day on your itinerary. A weekend arrival alone does not make every later weekday eligible for the child.
Compare the package premium with the extras you would buy
Request two quotes for the same dates, room, family size, taxes and cancellation terms. Then calculate:
Total A = room without the desired pool benefit + admission for everyone using it.
Total B = pool package + admission for anyone the package leaves out.
Here is a hypothetical one-night comparison for two adults and an 8-year-old using the autumn admission rates. The room prices below are invented to demonstrate the calculation; they are not available hotel offers. Assume the quoted room occupancy already covers all three guests and each option provides the swimming access you need.
| Example offer | Room and pool calculation | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Room with no Urban Island inclusion | ₩550,000 + ₩225,000 | ₩775,000 |
| Package explicitly including all three swimmers | ₩750,000 + ₩0 | ₩750,000 |
| Same package price, but only two adults included | ₩750,000 + ₩55,000 for the child | ₩805,000 |
In this example, the package saves ₩25,000 when it includes the child. Excluding the child makes it ₩30,000 more expensive than the first option. The word “package” cannot settle the comparison; the included people change the answer.
Also check whether the offers allow equivalent access. One entry, re-entry, a particular session and access on both sides of an overnight stay can have different value. Ask the hotel what each quoted option actually permits before multiplying a fee across several days.
Match the pool benefit to your arrival and departure
The current Urban Retreat package describes All Day access within check-in/check-out times and pool operating hours. It says Urban Island is available through November 15, 2026, and is not provided for check-ins from November 16 onward. Extra guests can incur additional charges.
That makes three details worth confirming in writing:
- Arrival: Can you use the benefit when you actually reach the hotel, including any arrival before room check-in?
- Departure: Does your planned final swim fall inside the quoted access window?
- People: Are both adults and your child’s exact age included in the displayed total?
A package advertised across several travel dates can still contain a benefit that ends earlier. Open the benefit conditions as well as the stay-date selector.
A short message to resolve the booking
Send this through your reservation’s messaging system or the property’s official contact channel, filling in the brackets:
We are two adults and one child aged [age], staying [dates]. For [rate/package name], please confirm which pool is included, whether all three of us are covered, the total extra charge, and the permitted entry times on arrival and departure days. May our child use the indoor pool on [swim date]? What happens to the pool benefit if access is unavailable?
Keep the reply with the booking confirmation. If the swim is the main reason for choosing the hotel, resolve these points while you can still change the reservation.
Can I buy the listed admission without staying at the hotel?
The published Urban Island policy limits access to guests and Fitness Club members. Its fee table does not establish a public walk-in day pass. Confirm a specifically available non-guest offer before travelling there solely for a swim.
What else belongs in the family hotel total?
Check the room’s guest limit, child policy and bedding alongside pool eligibility. Then check any hotel deposit or card hold. If you are still comparing locations, use the Seoul hotel-area guide to weigh the swim against your daily sightseeing journeys.
